In 2005 the two largest Irish Clubs (Irish Heritage Society of SW Florida Inc & Lee County Irish American Club Inc) voted to join forces and merge into one club, forming the largest Irish Club in SW Florida. The Board of Officers and Trustees were voted upon and is comprised of an equal share from each club. We are registered as a Florida Non Profit organization.

Our membership is comprised of people from many walks and differing stages of life. Our members enjoy dances, dinners, social gatherings as well as donating to local charities and volunteering at different local organizations.

We understand that our children and grandchildren are our heritage...and starting in 2007, a  club sponsored float will be entered into the Edison Junior Parade and we will proudly work with the Lee County Genealogical Society at Heritage Fest in October.

When I was a young kid, St. Patricks Day was FESTIVE ! Crowds, Parades, Irish dancers, Great Fun! Now as an adult, I still love it... all of it. There's a whole generation of kids out there growing up in Lee County that (at this point) are going to be adults someday and they aren't going to have any kind of warm fuzzy Irish American Feeling. Hopefully, I can help do something about that!

I look back to when I was a child and remember hearing the Irish music and remember how festive St Patrick's Day was and it brings back wonderful memories. As an adult, I want to share that with my kids and pass one teachings of our heritage, culture and traditions. Hopefully, they will grow up and keep it all alive through their own children.
